His father’s name is Santhakumaran Nair and a retired insurance officer and his mother’s name is Savitri Devi and a retired government employee.

Shanthakumaran Sreesanth made his domestic cricket debut against Goa in the 2002/03 season. In 2004, Sreesanth scored a hat trick when he played against Himachal Pradesh in the Ranji Trophy. After his excellent performance he made it to India B for the Challenger Trophy in October 2005.
