Early Life and Childhood
Nik Wallenda was born Nikolas Wallenda January 24, 1979 and is currently 42 years old. Similarly, he was born in Sarasota, Florida, USA and is American by nationality. He is also a follower of Christianity. Since his date of birth is January 24th, he was born under the sun sign Aquarius.
On his way to his family, he was born to his father, Terry Troffer, and her mother, Delilah Wallenda. Born into a family of aerial acrobats, he was introduced to the swing set at the age of 2. In 2001 he performed with his family at the Kurashiki Tivoli Park in Japan. This was their attempt to build the world’s first eight-person high-rope pyramid. They set a Guinness World Record after walking a 30-foot tightrope in just 6 minutes. He also performed with his children and family at Wet ‘n Wild Emerald Pointe in North Carolina from 2002 to 2005.
Wallenda performed for the Ringling brothers with Bello Nock on the doubles version of the Wheel of Steel in 2007 and 2008. Similarly, in October 2008, Nik appeared on a live Today broadcast. He walked a 250 foot cable with a 4 foot balancing pole. In 2009, he performed his high wire act at ten Cedar Fair amusement parks. This was called the “Walk Across America Tour”. He also rode a high wire 260 feet above the sea on a bicycle at Atlantis Paradise Island in 2010.
In June 2011, he performed a 100-foot high-wire traverse connecting the two towers of the Condado Plaza Hotel in Puerto Rico. He also performed that same month while hanging from a helicopter over Silver Dollar City, Missouri. After receiving permission from the Niagara Parks Commission, Wallenda walks a tightrope over Niagara Falls. That was his childhood dream.
In August 2012, Nik performed a 400 meter tightrope walk across Atlantic City Beach. In 2013 he also went on a gorge hike. On March 4, 2020, he successfully crossed the Masaya volcano. This is his longest stunt in existence.
Nik is currently in a married relationship with Erendira Wallenda. He proposed to Erendira on a 30 foot wire in 1999. Erendira is also a tightrope walker. The couple have three children together named Evita Wallenda, Amadaos Wallenda and Yanni Wallenda. His children are also part of the circus.
