Martin moved to New York in 2004 to further his career. There he worked for ABC as the host of the late-night news program “Nightline”. After working at ABC for a few years, he left in 2010 and joined MSNBC. He worked as a political commentator and also hosted his own show, Martin Bashir. However, he resigned from NBC on December 4, 2013. He returned to BBC News in late 2016 as a religious affairs correspondent. After around 5 years of service, he left the BBC on May 14, 2021.
