She then worked as a sports presenter for four other New York-area radio stations until 1987, including a brief stint as an updater at WFAN in New York City. She was also able to write sports broadcasting history in 1987. Because she became the first full-time US sports host on a national radio station when ABC hired her.
She was able to anchor WABC TalkRadio from 1987-89. She was also able to get her first television break in 1988 after being hired by one of ESPN’s biggest competitors at the time, SportsChannel America. Then, back in 1989, she was able to host a call-in radio sports show in New York.
