Jones’ parents relocated to Springfield, Missouri, USA, where Pat was President and Chairman of Modern Security Life Insurance Co. Similarly, after graduating from the University of Arkansas, he was listed as executive vice president. And Jones was an assistant captain of the Arkansas national soccer team in 1964.

He was also an offensive lineman for College Football Hall of Fame coach Frank Broyles and a teammate of college football and NFL coach Jimmy Johnson, whom Jones hired as his first head coach after buying the Cowboys. He also received his master’s degree in business administration in 1970. In addition, his privately held company is currently conducting natural resource prospecting.
