Cecily Tynan is an American television weather forecaster. Tynan, a former host of the Saturday night public affairs program Primetime Weekend, is the current chief meteorologist at WPVI
Early Life Childhood
Cecily Tynan was born on March 19, 1969 in Newton Connecticut. She is a fish and transforms 51 years old in 2020. Although Tynan never mentioned anything about her family or childhood in more than half of her life. Therefore, the names of her parents are unknown. However, she is very close to her family.
Tynan enrolled at Washington and Lee University after high school. She holds a magna cum laude degree with majors in journalism and politics. In addition, she has completed courses in meteorology and therefore has a television seal number, i.e. 1099, from the American Meteorological Society.
career and working life
After graduating from Washington and Lee University, Cecily Tynan began working as a weekend weather anchor and general-duty reporter at WDBJ in Roanoke, Virginia. She later signed on with KTNV and served as the news anchor for Good Morning Las Vegas. After that, she was hired by WPVI in 1995. Initially, she worked as a weekend weather announcer and general reporter. Gradually, she was promoted to weekday morning weather researcher.
By 2003, Tynan also began reporting weekdays at 5:30 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. She did, however, have widespread recognition when she replaced Lisa Thomas-Laury as the co-host of several locally produced specials, including the 6ABC Dunkin’ Donuts Thanksgiving Day Parade, the Fourth of July Parade, Philly on Wheels and the Flower Show.
Aside from being an accomplished meteorologist, Tynan is also a triathlete. She is a four-time sub-3-hour marathoner and a former world-class professional duathlete. Additionally, she was a top ten age group finisher at the 2003 Ironman World Championships in Kona, Hawaii. In 2001, Runner’s World Magazine even featured Tynan on the cover of its February issue.
However, only recently has she been taking part in local charity races. In 2009 she replaced Dave Roberts after he retired on 5pm and 6pm weather reports. She is currently Chief Meteorologist for WPVI and appears as a weather forecaster on the 5pm, 6pm and 11pm shows.
