Anthony Joshua fight vs Pulev: Live stream and latest updates

Anthony Joshua and Kubrat Pulev at the fight press conference

AJ (23-1, 21 KOs) was set to fight Pulev (28-1, 14 KOs) back in 2017, but the challenger was forced to pull out on late notice with an injury. The Bulgarian gets his shot at Joshua this evening, however, and – after the pair’s hostile face-off at yesterday’s weigh-in – many are expecting the bout to end in a knockout due to the bad blood between the opponents. Pulev has only lost once to another victim of Joshua – Wladimir Klitschko, who delivered a vicious five-round beating back in 2014 – but Saturday signals, in all likelihood, his last chance at becoming a world champion.

There’s a packed undercard, too, with Lawrence Okolie and Hughie Fury in action. Follow all the latest from the undercard and main event below.

BAKOLE VS KUZMIN – ROUND 9

Kuzmin is light on his feet here. He’s still catching Bakole but can’t seem to hurt the Congolese.

It’s going to the final round. Kuzmin needs a big finish; he could still steal this, but it’ll take something impressive…

BAKOLE VS KUZMIN – ROUND 8

Kuzmin had an encouraging spell in the middle of the fight but needs to start forcing the issue here. He lands a fierce right hand with his back on the ropes! He soon has Bakole against the ropes and finds a home for a lovely uppercut!

Bakole escapes the position but is caught with another uppercut on his way out. It’s a good round from Kuzmin, who may be 5-3 down in terms of frames here.

BAKOLE VS KUZMIN – ROUND 7

Bakole is on the front foot here, knowing he needs to stay active to keep his (likely) lead in the fight. The Congolese is relying on his jab to good effect.

BAKOLE VS KUZMIN – ROUND 5

Kuzmin starts the round with an active jab and it leads into a sharp right straight. That spurs Bakole on to go after the Russian, and the Congolese finds some success with hooks and uppercuts in close. Kuzmin now lands his own hooks! Bakole needs to be careful here; he seems a little too casual in the pocket and his opponent is doing decent work there.

At the moment Bakole has the edge in terms of volume but Kuzmin is landing the more effective shots.

Bakole ends the round well – that one could easily have gone either way.

BAKOLE VS KUZMIN – ROUND 4

Kuzmin lands a stern jab and follows it with a clean right straight. Bakole replies with consecutive jabs to the body and head. This slower pace appears to be favouring Kuzmin somewhat, though… Nevertheless, Bakole finds a home for a counter right. But it’s the Russian who finishes the round slightly more strongly.

That might be Kuzmin’s first round of the fight.

BAKOLE VS KUZMIN – ROUND 3

Both boxers show off a lot more patience in this frame. While Bakole had a fair bit of success in the second, Kuzmin also landed some dangerous shots, and it seems the Congolese fighter is conscious of that.

A close round and tough to call.

BAKOLE VS KUZMIN – ROUND 2

Kuzmin lands a nice uppercut through Bakole’s guard, but Bakole comes back with a combination that appears to stagger Kuzmin slightly…

Bakole then pours it on! Kuzmin manages to weather the storm and fires off another decent uppercut, but Bakole wears it pretty well. Next it’s a right straight from Kuzmin that lands cleanly, but again Bakole shakes it off quickly.

Some promising moments from Kuzmin in that round, but Bakole likely took it.

BAKOLE VS KUZMIN – ROUND 1

It’s a tentative start from both men. Kuzmin then closes down Bakole with jabs but is caught with a decent uppercut, Bakole firing it off with his back against the ropes. Moments later Bakole lands a clean one-two before following some jabs to the head with a hook to the body. Both fighters appear to stun each other somewhat with simultaneous right hooks late in the round, and they opt to recover at the same time.

A good opening frame from Bakole.
