Andrew Zimmer is a popular American culinary expert, restaurateur, chef, TV personality, radio personality, director, producer, journalist, author and entrepreneur. Andrew Zimmer is best known as the host, producer and co-creator of the popular TV series Bizarre Foods with Andrew Zimmer, Bizarre Foods: Delicious Destinations and many more.

Andrew Zimmer was born Andrew Scott Zimmer July 4, 1961. He came into this world in New York City, USA. So he is currently 60 years old and holds American citizenship. Likewise, his religion is Christianity and his birth sign is Cancer.

Moving on to his family, he was born to Robert Zimmer, his father, and Caren Zimmer, his mother. He grew up in a Jewish household. At the age of 14 he began formal cooking classes. He studied at the Dalton School and went on to Vassar College. Zimmer had a long radio career prior to Bizarre Foods. In the Twin Cities, his shows Chowhounds, The Andrew Zimmer Show and Food Court With Andrew Zimmer were hugely successful. Zimmer was a celebrity contributor on both HGTV’s Rebecca’s Garden and Typical Mary Ellen, where he did on-air food work for both shows and food features reporter for Fox TV station KMSP-TV.

During the 1997 season of the UPN network’s nationally televised Everyday Living, he was a reporter for food and lifestyle features. He has been a guest chef at several major charity events, food festivals and galas. He also appeared in an instructional video series for the Cooking Club of America.

Also, his most recent book, Alliance of World Explorers, Volume 1: AZ and the Lost City of Ophir, is a grade-level reading series. The 2019 Gold IPPY for Juvenile Fiction went to this work.
